Diverson is the process where basically an Authorised Dermalogica retailer is selling to an unauthorised seller, who then sells to the general public. To become an authorised Dermalogica stockist, you must first be a trained therapist who will be able to carry out skin treatments, you would then have an account with Dermalogica, and they do allow us to sell online, providing we do treatments and we have an online consultation form with a customer care number.
Diversion is dangerous because not only do you not know the history of the product, you will also not be receiving any professional advice from an authorised skin centre. At Julia Hart we are committed to providing the best possible advice, either through one of the many articles, via email, by phone or ideally face to face through a skin consultation and face-mapping.
Diverted products are often expired, stolen, counterfeit and/or contaminated (some are watered down or have other fillers in them, so they do not even resemble the product you wanted!). You will put your skin’s health at risk.
We fully support Dermalogica’s stance against diversion and will only buy direct from Dermalogica and sell to the general public. If you suspect a product is Diverted, do let us know and we can pass your concerns on to Dermalogica, they spend a lot of money every month buying back products on the internet and tracing the original seller!
How Can You Tell When You Buy Online?
The criteria for selling on a website is as follows – you must already have a skincare centre/salon where treatments are carried out, and therapists are trained in Dermalogica. The website must have a consultation system online and contact information with a telephone number.
Ebay
Please don’t buy on Ebay! any sellers who are selling Dermalogica are definitely not allowed to do so!! and I have seen many selling salon size and professional only products – which infuriates me! We are not allowed to sell professional only products to the public, the reason for this is that they don’t come with any instructions on the product and some exfoliants are very high strength that are not available to the public, we have had training on using them! you can do serious damage to your skin! Also beware of purchasing products not in the UK, you may not have the same rights.
Find us on Find a Professional – Dermalogica by just popping our postcode in – DA9 9FZ, as you will see we are a fully authorised account! Our prices are competitive and the same as buying from my skin clinic, with a 100% money back guarantee! So look for the sites with lots of information and great advice - like us!
