I am a huge advocate of icing the skin, it really gives you an amazing glow and wakes up your face. The use of cold therapy (Cryotherapy) on your skin will tighten and firm, activate the micro-circulation and reduce puffiness.
Supermodel Linda Evangelista apparently always had a bowl of ice at hand on fashion shoots to apply before make-up application to tighten her skin. It really does freshen up your face, so perfect for a pre-party pick me up or if you feel you are looking tired.
Use Toners or Floral Waters for an Icy Treat
You can even freeze your favourite toner or floral water. My favourite is good old fashioned Rosewater and Glycerin, all you need to do is pour into an ice cube tray and freeze. You can also freeze Green Tea or White Tea for an antioxidant boost.
The trick to apply your ice cube on your face is to wrap it in gauze or a piece of muslin cloth, you will still need a towel underneath your face as you will get drips.
Massage the ice cube all over your face (I use 2 cubes on my face), paying attention to under the eyes as this can brighten up dark circles and fluid build up that the eye area is prone to.
If you have lots of broken capillaries be cautious, as extremes of temperature can make them worse.
